My first trip to Martha’s Vineyard, I met up with Farah and George for their engagement session and then wedding. The moment I got off the ferry, I felt amazing: relaxed and thoroughly excited by the smell of the ocean. For this engagement session, we visited Edgartown Lighthouse, utilizing the natural beauty and the man made structures to help capture this beautiful relationship.

A couple that originated in Cambridge, Farah and George met at Boston’s Museum of Fine Arts. When it came time to planning their wedding, they agreed to have an outdoor ceremony with the goal of creating a relaxed event, where the focus was moreso on enjoyment than on any pomp and circumstance. I would certainly say they pulled it off.

From the side dishes to the Nat King Cole songs, from the reception’s photo booth to the cupcakes (in lieu of a cake), this couple created a celebration that truly reflected their unique joys. It was a joy to see Farah and George refuse some traditional wedding expectations in order to create a wedding that showcased their best selves.

I am grateful to Farah and George for trusting me to capture this special time in their journey together!
